Evaluation of SPAD Index for Estimating Nitrogen and Magnesium Contents in Three Blueberry Varieties (Vaccinium corymbosum L.) on the Andean Tropics

In the Ericaceae family, blueberries are most commercially important species. Estimating nutritional and physiological status of plants is a common practice carried out by producers. However, conventional methods destructive, costly time consuming. recent years, methodologies such as measurements with SPAD chlorophyll index have become available, which has proven to be an easy, fast non-destructive method for estimating chlorophyll, N Mg contents in field. Therefore, this research aimed estimate variations readings between varieties determine whether Chlorophyll Index (SPAD) values associated Nitrogen Magnesium blueberry (Vaccinium corymbosum L.) from ‘Biloxi’, ‘Legacy’ ‘Victoria’ vegetative phase under conditions municipality Paipa-Boyacá (Colombia). The presented statistical differences values, linear correlation coefficient determination (R2) greater than 0.8 three varieties. This result confirmed usefulness importance using nutrition management tool evaluated based on readings, subsequent relationship threshold foliar field conditions.
